Terms and Conditions for Advance Classes

1. FEES

1.1 Students are required to settle 50% deposit of the total workshop fee WITHIN A WEEK of the booking date to guarantee a space in the workshop. Your seat will be reserved once payment is made. [Prompt payment is appreciated; due to our class size is small. Holding a seat and not making payment on time is not ethical, as there are other students waiting to be enrolled into the class. Thank you so much for your kind understanding and cooperation!]

1.2. The outstanding 50% will need to be made ONE-WEEK BEFORE THE WORKSHOP COMMENCEMENT DATE. Your place on the course cannot be reserved until full payment is received.

1.3. Shoe Artistry (We) accept bookings through our website ONLY.

2 METHODS OF PAYMENT

2.1 Shoe Artistry accepts different forms of payments, please go to our payment methods page for more information.

3.MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT

3.1 18 years of age and above. Below 18 we need to interview and also have a parental letter of consent for you to attend the course.

4. MATERIALS/ EQUIPMENT & COURSE CONTENT

4.1 The shoemaking workshop fee includes the cost of basic materials, which will be provided

4.2 For students who wish to bring their own leather/material during the shoe making class. Please contact Shoe Artistry first before bringing them, as they might be unsuitable for the class. Fabric is strictly not allowed for the our advance shoe making classes.

4.3 All standards shoe design templates are provided. The advance class focuses more on the techniques of handmade shoe making rather than the design and the style of it. Therefore Shoe Artistry hopes that the student could respect our course content.

4.4 Shoe Artistry is NOT obliged to teach a particular shoe design/style that the student had brought in during the workshop. We will try our best to accommodate each one’s shoe design or style. If we find that its too complicated and the shoe design or style exceeds the standards of beginner’s class, we have the right to reject your design.

5. SHOE LASTS & SIZING

5.1 Once you are enrolled into our workshop we will contact you shortly on how to measure and draw your feet.  Then we will find the most suitable shoe last for you. Some customisation on the shoe last will be made in order to fit your feet shape.  This we will do it on our side in order to

5.2 Please note that we will make every effort to provide a shoe last that is an approximation based on your feet measurement.  However we don’t bear the responsibility that the shoes will fit you perfectly.

6. LATE APPLICATIONS

6.1 If there are places available on a workshop we will accept bookings right up until the course commences.
6.2 Late applicants will usually have their place on the course confirmed by telephone or email. If, however, you have not received confirmation within 24 hours of your application it is your responsibility to check on +852 27966018

7. CANCELLATIONS BY US

7.1 Please note that workshop have minimum attendance levels and may be cancelled if too few bookings are received.

7.2 We reserve the right to amend or cancel courses, change course location and substitute lecturers and tutors.

7.3 If the workshop is cancelled due to special circumstances such as natural disasters, typhoons, transportation problems..etc. We might post-phone the class to another available date, but please understand that your registration is non – refundable. Our date change will be our final decision.

7.4 We will not be liable for any losses (including, but not limited to, travel and accommodation costs) as a consequence of any modification or cancellation of courses or timetabling constraints as set out above beyond the cost of the course fee.

8 CANCELLATIONS BY YOU & REPLACEMENT

8.1 If you wish to cancel your place on a course your request should be made in writing. (Email or Letter by post only) We don’t accept text messages, phone calls, or whats app…etc

8.2 If you wish to cancel your seat in our workshop before the commencement date, we will not refund the 50% deposit made to us (in order to cover our lost). You can have the option of having someone to replace your space. Or we could find someone to take your place. ** Note: this should be made before the workshop commences.

8.3 If you wish to cancel your seat during our workshop had commenced. You will not be entitled to a refund.

9 NON-ATTENDANCE

9.1. Non-attendance of classes due to illness or for personal or professional reasons does not provide the right to refunds or extra tuition.

9.2. However, in such an event we will consider all the circumstances and take such action that we consider to be fair and reasonable.

10 CLASS POSTPONEMENT

10.1. If a class is postponed for reasons for which we are responsible, including staff illness, we will make every reasonable effort to reschedule the class or to add the missed hours onto the remaining course classes. We apologise for this inconvenience and urge you to contact us if you have any concerns.

11 FORCE MAJEURE

11.1 We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in the performance, in whole or part, of any or our obligations arising from or attributable to acts, events, omissions or accidents beyond our reasonable control including, but not limited to strikes, lock-outs or other industrial disputes (whether involving our workforce or the workforce of any other party), act of God, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, rule regulation or direction, accident, breakdown of plant or machinery, fire, flood, storm, pandemics, epidemics or other outbreaks of disease or infection, failure in the public supply of electricity, heating, lighting, air conditioning or telecommunications equipment.

11.2 We do not accept responsibility for any injury or personal damage that may occur as a result of skills and techniques taught in any of our workshops.

12. LANGUAGES

12.1. All classes are taught in spoken English and Cantonese in general.

13 STUDENT CONDUCT

13.1. Students are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and to recognise that other students also require support and assistance. If a student becomes persistently disruptive we reserve the right to offer a verbal or written warning and, if this does not resolve the situation, we may, at our discretion, ask the student to leave the course.

14. CERTIFICATES

14.1 On completion of your course, and having attended the minimum number of hours required, Shoe Artistry will provide you with a certificate of attendance. The name given on the booking form will be the one that appears on the certificate. It is not feasible to examine and grade your ability of work or depth of knowledge. Therefore the certificate of attendance is not a qualification.

15. OVERSEAS APPLICATIONS – if applicable.

15.1 As we may need to contact you in the two weeks prior to the course start date, please ensure you include your contact details in the HK when making your booking.

15.2 Please ensure that your place is confirmed and the course is running before you make any travel arrangements. We do not offer refunds for travel or accommodation costs in accordance with points 8 & 9 above.

16. STUDENT VISAS – if applicable.

16.1 Students who book onto short courses are not eligible to apply for a Student Visa. We recommend you contact the China/HK Embassy in your own country to check visa requirements before you book your course.

16.2 If you cannot attend a course because you have not obtained a visa to enter the HK no refund will be offered.

19. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

19.1 All of our contents inclusive of notes, images, audio or video recording taken during SHOE ARTISTRY workshops are the property of Shoe Artistry. It is at our discretion to use these in any media or website promotions. (Unless specifically requested otherwise by a student).

19.2 All shoe-making techniques taught during SHOE ARTISTRY workshops are the property of Shoe Artistry.

19.3 All contents in points 1 and 2 and including the Shoe Artistry logo, may only be used for publicity of Shoe Artistry and must be credited as such.

20. Accuracy of InformationWhilst we endeavor to ensure that all information included on the Website is correct, we will not be held responsible for any errors or omissions. If we are informed of any inaccuracies in the material on the Website, we will correct this as soon as we reasonably can. Prices, descriptions, specifications and product availability may change at any time without further notification.

21. Trademarks and Copyright
All trademarks and copyrights are the sole property of their respective owners and photographs courtesy of their respective authors. We hold full re-sale rights for all products listed on this website.

22. Changes to these Terms and Conditions
This Website reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions without prior notice at any time.
